Dodge City Days Christian Revival

returns July 27

by Laura Tawater

For the second year in a row, Dodge City churches will join forces this summer to put on the annual Dodge City Days Christian Revival Event. This gives everyone an opportunity to unite in faith and worship, and create a better, lasting relationship with God and each other. The Dodge City Days Festival began in 1960 and continues to this day to be the second largest festival in the state of Kansas. Dodge City Days is a 10-day-long festival and includes over 50 events to celebrate the great western heritage of Dodge City. Members of the community were grateful last year to learn that the Revival would be a new event added to the popular Dodge City Days Festival.

This one-night Christian event was held at the Dodge City Roundup Rodeo outdoor arena last year. People from all over Western Kansas came to listen to local pastors give messages of love, hope, and forgiveness from the Gospel, and local Christian musicians sang songs of praise.

The generous citizens and businesses of Dodge City gave selflessly of their time, money, and goods to make sure this powerful event would be made possible and that lives would be changed forever. The friendships and oneness created from the Dodge City Days Revival remains strong today, so much so, that we all are going to reunite for the 2018 2nd Annual Dodge City Revival on July 27th. The great Christians of this community are working hard to raise funds and prepare for another successful revival event this year at the Roundup Rodeo Arena.

The Dodge City Revival is a not-for-profit tax-exempt Christian Ministry, and resides under the umbrella of the First Baptist Church in Dodge City. Our mission is to share the simple message of the Gospel and be living examples of God’s love for everyone to see. It is obvious that the passion for Christ is the driving force among the believers in Dodge City and the desire to serve others and introduce them to the unconditional love and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am thankful for my community for the tremendous support of this recurring event, the countless hours of volunteer work, and the sacrifices that are made to ensure quality of life in Dodge City.
