WHEN A FATHER
LOSES A SON
This is the hardest story that I’ve ever written. But, because God has blessed me with Faith and Family, I am sharing my emotions and experiences with you. I have no anger with God and I only pray that “once saved, always saved” applied to my son.
Of course I question if my mistakes as a father contributed to his poor choices and decisions, and I will answer to my God for my actions. I tried to set a good example for him.
I took him to church as a child and he accepted Christ and was baptized when he was about 12 years old.
My son fell victim to peer pressure while in high school. and his life became filled with poor decisions and choices. These choices eventually took his life. The damages to his brain and his organs from his lifestyle was another story that people don’t talk about. It is a very complicated mixture.
His life became a roller coaster ride until he became sole parent of my first grandson. He rededicated his life and was re-baptised when he was about 25.
His occupation just made it too easy to relapse into the life of poor choices.
He returned to church about five years ago and he re-married. He and his wife were active in a church and he was finding true happiness, but the damage to his brain and body was done.
We were with him when he left this earth and as he took his last breaths, my wife lovingly said, “He’s seeing his Savior.” Oh, how I pray that she was right and that he was received with open arms.
If you know someone who is facing the demons that my son faced, please, share “My Name Is Meth” with them. You will find it on page 5.
“Whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in Heaven.”
